THE ADVENTURES OF AL PIPER

One of the biggest highlights of the New Hampshire Reunion was the softball game. The game was the 30 and overs vs. Under 30s.

Al Piper comes to bat and smacks the ball over the infield.

Al sprints to first but half way there his hamstring snaps and he goes rolling along the ground in massive pain. The Under 30 team puts in a pinch runner. The next guy up hits a grounder to shortstop.
Bill Keffer gets the ball and guns it to first base but his throw, going at least 90 miles per hour, goes way wide of the first baseman whose diving effort could not get the ball. The ball hits Piper smack in the butt. Al was still lying on the ground in utter pain from snapping his hamstring, and now he's got a softball smacking into his big butt.
Everyone on both teams fell over laughing in tears. Poor Al.

After 10 more minutes, he got up and hobbled away, embarrassed and in pain. We last saw him headed in the direction of the infirmary.
Al did eventually recover and was able to attend the remainder of the reunion. He did however have a limp from the hamstring tear for over a month, and he had a bad bruise on his butt for several weeks.
