QUOTABLE QUOTES
(the following are from e-mails I received after the Reunion) Dan O'Shea - The next time Tecumseh has a Reunion, camp should be one week long and the Reunion should be seven weeks long. Jamie McElgin - I'll forward some photos to you. It stinks to be home, I am camp sick already. Mike O'Shea - The Reunion was awesome. thanks for everything. i tried to get everyone in the cafe of my building to sing "take me out to the ballgame" the monday i got back, but it didn't work as well. i also left my Speedo on the dock. can you check lost and found for me? George Degerberg - AWESOME TIME-It was great seeing everyone. It was like I hadn't missed a season at camp. Hart Baur - Thanks, awesome time. Lets do it next year! Look forward forward to the photos. It was kind of like falling in love with your high school girlfriend all over again. Chris "Creo" Roe - We had a blast and wanted to thank you again. Now to get the rest of the family back there. Best, - creo Brian McCloskey - Thanks for a great weekend...One of the best of all-time..Everything was perfect! Rhett Chiliberti - This past week was great - can't wait for next year. Karen Spofford - On behalf of Ed, EJ and Tori, I wanted to thank you for a coordinating a wonderful reunion at Camp Tecumseh. We all enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones. The camp staff was gracious and made us all feel at home. The camp food and facilities were excellent and enjoyed by each and everyone of us. If you are taking a poll we would gladly come back again for "family camp" and hope EJ will decide he will want to go next summer. Mark MacCracken - I would think that doing a week following camp like that focused on families with young 3-8 year olds, would be the best recruitment for new campers you could have. What kid would ever be afraid to go after being there for a few weeks over that past few years with his family. Would raise comfort for moms too. Jim Fraser - John and Jeff hurt for a week after their "workouts" at tecumseh!!! Steve Skillman on why he was not at the New Hampshire Reunion - I was scared that Big Jim Flozer was going to make me do up/downs...family commitment on Cape Cod...could not get away...very disappointed. I was thinking about you guys all that weekend. Classic Cheesy Al story!! That is so funny!!! Tremendous description by you...just read it aloud to my co-workers...the whole room is laughing...Tecumseh transcends all walks of life... Tell STR that no means no! Hank Hoke - What a fabulous time. I will never forget it. Paul "Byrd" Luff - Great job on the reunion once again! Thanks for having the Ossippee Mountain Boys play, as well as the Grinning Lizards. Bob Flood - My family and I had an awesome time at the reunion at camp especially my son. I would love to get him up there this summer. - working on it! Can you email me Jim Fraser's contact info in Virginia. Some of the old football guard at Germantown Academy want to send him some information on the current football program Phil Heaver - Thanks very much for this and for all you did to make that experience so memorable. I am so glad I made it! Definitely need to do as often as possible - really was very difficult for me not having the family there this time. Pam McGinley - We want to thank you for the "best" weekend ever! The McGinley team loved every minute. I also enjoyed reading front to back the booklet you put together. So well done & thoughtful. It was wonderful to see everyone after so many years.
Brooke McMullin - Thank you to you and everyone who made both reunions such a great experience.
I truly felt like we were back at camp and my body paid for it too. What was the best was being able to see my
kids enjoy the experiences and memories I have of camp. It was also great to renew old friendships as well
as make new ones. With two boys ages 9 and 5, it was especially rewarding to see that the counselors who
remained after camp still had that special Tecumseh touch in dealing with kids. One particular memory was
my 5 year old, Brysen, shooting out rock paper scissors with one of the Doughertys to see who would
pitch for kick ball. You can have the best facilities in the world but it is the people that make a difference.
Tecumseh is that way. My wife Patty is even starting to believe that it really is the best place on earth.
Thanks for everything.
If you would like to offer thoughts or suggestions about the 2003 Reunions and / or future Reunions, please feel free to send an e-mail to Biff Sturla at: biff@lmsc.net Please try to get comments and thoughts to me before October 15. Specifically, would you be interseted in attending future Reunions in New Hampshire or Philadelphia? What did you like most about the Reunions? What would you like to see done differently? How often do you think Reunions should be held? (I am thinking that we have some type of Reunion every four years, similar to the Olympics). Please feel free to e-mail me with thoughts, suggestions, etc. I will gladly pass along your ideas to the other Trustees at the next Trustees Meeting. |
